We believe the concept is very exciting for the region and the project will generate significant benefits to the Gippsland visitor economy and local community.
We have been briefed on the project and are aware that it is subject to planning approvals.
Our understanding is that it will closely align with Destination Gippsland’s strategic goals to attract a higher yielding market based on ‘comfort in nature’ experiences. Spa and wellness experiences are a growing market in Australia and one that Gippsland and its geothermal conditions is well positioned to capitalise on. The project is also consistent with our recent brand research that emphasises our region’s incredible natural assets, in particular the Gippsland Lakes. The potential to attract interstate and international markets to this location will enhance Gippsland’s reputation as a quality destination.
